Petersen's Shelby Cruise-In

A rare rain-filled California sky was the backdrop to the Petersen’s Shelby Cruise-In this past weekend, but that couldn’t keep hundreds of Shelby, Mustang, and Ford enthusiasts from meeting up on top of the Petersen Automotive Museum in honor of what would have been Shelby’s 93rd birthday. The sheer variety of modifications and stages of restoration was staggering. There was everything from Ford’s newest Shelby GT350R and Super Snake Mustangs to the black Number 1 Cobra deemed the only Cobra worthy of filling the lobby of Carroll Shelby’s funeral to Lynn Park’s best-in-show-winning unrestored barn-find 289 Cobra. If you looked hard enough there was also a hidden Lotus and Alfa Romeo parked back in the parking structure away from the Shelby fray.

You can browse the photos below to check out just how many great examples were on display, but make sure to mark your calendars for the next event: the Enzo Ferrari Birthday Cruise-In on February 21st!
